As a veterinarian at Heartland Veterinary Partners, you will provide quality care to patients and empathetic service to clients. You will partner with other veterinarians, technicians, and client service representatives to operate as an efficient and productive team.

We offer a wide range of veterinary services, including wellness programs, medical care, surgery, dental cleanings, and more. With our commitment to utilizing new technology, we ensure that every check-up, procedure, or surgery is carried out with the utmost care and compassion.
Position Purpose:
Associate Veterinarian – Full-Time
Location: Waverly, Iowa
Compensation: USD $100,000 – $120,000 annually

You’ll be the caring, knowledgeable veterinarian that pets and owners rely on.
You’ll join a team that prioritizes education: helping pet owners understand nutrition, exercise, and health so pets live better, longer lives.

You’ll perform a mixture of wellness visits, diagnostics, surgeries, dental care, and integrative therapies.

What we’re looking for
A DVM with a strong passion for veterinary medicine and animal welfare.
Eagerness to learn, grow and work collaboratively with a dedicated team.
Good communication skills — you’ll be educating clients and explaining treatments.
Willingness to work full-time in our Waverly, IA location (Monday-Friday 7:30 AM-5:30 PM; weekends closed)

Essential Responsibilities:
- Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
- Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
- Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
- Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
- Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
- Maintain patients’ medical records.
- Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- DVM/VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
- Appropriate state licensure.
- Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
- Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.
