Job Details
France Avenue Pet Hospital is a full-service small animal practice that prides itself on our knowledge, passion, and skilled professionals. Located in the Minneapolis metropolitan area, our clients are caring and plentiful. Over the last 17 years, we have built many life-long relationships within our community.
Position Purpose:Our team is growing!
This position comes with a great multi-site opportunity at our sister location, Bush Lake Pet Hospital, in Eden Prairie. Our second location is a newly built, state-of-the-art facility within the Minneapolis Metro area, helping our cohesive team achieve even more lifelong relationships within our community.
Our practices currently consist of 2 full-time DVMs, 3 certified veterinary technicians, and 3 veterinary assistants, making an ideal doctor-to-tech/assistant ratio.
Our technical staff is highly utilized, ensuring that their doctors are never without a hand and are always able to manage their time as needed. Caseloads are optimal for a doctor who likes to keep a steady agenda with a balance of medical and surgical cases. We see dogs, cats, and a multitude of exotic companion animals.
We foster a supportive and collaborative work environment and our experienced doctors are compassionate, ambitious, and hardworking - making them great teammates and colleagues.
Full-time and part-time positions are available.
About the Area: Bloomington is a neighborhood of Minneapolis that offers something for everyone! Home to the world-famous Mall of America, you will always have many shops and restaurants at your fingertips. For the outdoors and nature lovers there is Minnehaha Regional Park’s beautiful waterfalls and river walk or the Richardson Nature Center. If you are a sports fanatic, you can easily catch a Vikings, Twins, or University of Minnesota Golden Gophers game. Minneapolis is a beautiful and diverse city with opportunities of all kinds.
Essential Responsibilities:- Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
- Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
- Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
- Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
- Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
- Maintain patients’ medical records.
- Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
- Appropriate state licensure.
- Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
- Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.
