Job Details
At Boone's Creek Animal Hospital we are very proud of our large facility and have designed the building with our clients and patients in mind. With separate entrances, lobbies, and exam rooms for dogs and cats, we try to take the stress out of visiting the veterinarian.
Position Purpose:Our practice continues to grow, so we're adding to our team! Whether your passion is appointments or surgery/dentals or any other aspect of veterinary medicine, our skilled support staff is ready to assist you however we can. As a collaborative team, we're always looking to support each other and the patients we treat.
Veterinarians of all experience levels are encouraged to apply. If you're looking for mentorship, our doctor team will offer strong guidance as you start your career (or refine skills that you haven't used in the past)!
About the area: Set in the historic area of Johnson City, the Boone's Creek neighborhood has a vast history dating back to the early days of our country and Daniel Boone. There are endless trails in Johnson City that crisscross and double back on themselves, winding through stunning scenes and shifting stations, traversing a community with unexpected views and viewpoints.
- Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
- Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
- Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
- Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
- Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
- Maintain patients’ medical records.
- Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.
- DVM/VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
- Appropriate state licensure.
- Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
- Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.
