Overview
As a veterinarian at Heartland Veterinary Partners, you will provide quality care to patients and empathetic service to clients. You will partner with other veterinarians, technicians, and client service representatives to operate as an efficient and productive team.

Established in 1954, Harper Woods Veterinary Hospital offers your companion pets a modern, well equipped hospital with comfortable patient quarters and state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment facilities. We are conveniently located on the East side of Harper Avenue between Allard Ave and Eight Mile Rd at 20102 Harper Avenue in Harper Woods, Michigan.

High-Quality, Efficient Medicine
- ~25 patients/day per DVM
- Daily surgery schedule
- Protected midday block (12:30–2:00 PM) for lunch & charting

- 10 exam rooms
- Dedicated surgical suite
- Treatment area with 4 wet tables (dentals performed here)
- State-of-the-art surgical laser
- Cold laser therapy for post-op healing
- Advanced diagnostics & full-service capabilities
- New services coming soon (including MRI capabilities)
Schedule & Work-Life Balance
- Monday–Friday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- No evenings
- No weekends
- No on-call
The Medicine
- Small animal only (dogs & cats)
- Full-service general practice with strong surgical caseload
- Involvement in local shelter medicine and community partnerships

Who This Role Is For
- Experienced DVM (not open to new grads at this time)
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, team-driven environment

- Passionate about delivering high-quality patient care
Essential Responsibilities:
- Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
- Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
- Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
- Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
- Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
- Maintain patients’ medical records.
- Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- DVM/VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
- Appropriate state licensure.
- Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
- Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.

Pay Range:
USD $115,000.00 - USD $130,000.00 /Yr.Success Profile
