East Lawn Animal Hospital has serving Fort Dodge, IA, and the surrounding community for over 40 years. We are a full-service hospital and only offer the highest-quality care and compassion. Because of this, many of our clients have been coming to us for generations!
We are equipped with in-house lab (IDEXX), digital x-ray, complete dental unit, and all the other tools needed to practice your best medicine.

Compensation $110,000-$125,000
East Lawn Animal Hospital is hiring a full-time Associate Veterinarian. If you want a supportive team, a broad caseload, and a practice with deep community roots, we are the hospital for you!
About the clinic
East Lawn Animal Hospital provides full-service care including wellness, preventive medicine, surgery, and dentistry. The team treats canine, feline, and exotic patients.

What you will do
- You act as a trusted partner for your patients and clients while working across a diverse case mix.
- Perform wellness exams, preventive care, surgery, and dental procedures
- Treat a wide range of species, including exotics
- Educate clients on long-term health and care plans
- Collaborate with an experienced, team-oriented staff

Essential Responsibilities:
- Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
- Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
- Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
- Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
- Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
- Maintain patients’ medical records.
- Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- DVM/VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
- Appropriate state licensure.
- Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
- Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.
