Position Purpose:

Associate Veterinarian | Animal Medical Center | Clinic Family? Maybe. Concert Crew? Definitely.

Claremore, OK · Small Animal or Mixed Animal · New Grads Welcome

At Animal Medical Center, you can focus on dogs and cats or add farm calls to your week. We’re hiring an associate veterinarian and would love to hear what kind of medicine you enjoy most.

Either way, you’ll join a team that talks through tough cases, gets together for lunch one Friday a month, and buys concert tickets together. Yes, on purpose.

Five RVTs. Two Ultrasounds.  A Little Help From Scribenote.

Our five RVTs get to use the skills they trained for, and you’ll typically have two support team members working alongside you. We have portable and stationary ultrasound, digital dental X-rays, and an in-house IDEXX lab. We also use Scribenote to help with charting.

Four Weekdays. Let’s Talk Saturdays.

You’ll work four weekdays, with Saturdays on rotation. If you choose the small animal role, you’ll work one Saturday morning a month (8 a.m. to noon) and have no on-call. If you choose mixed practice, Dr. Gilsleider is happy to talk through your schedule and how we share on-call coverage.

Essential Responsibilities:

Puppy Breath. Tricky Cases. Boots Optional.

  • See patients for everything from first puppy visits to sick visits that take a little detective work.

  • Do routine surgery and dentistry, with help from our doctors when you’re ready to learn something new.

  • Talk through tricky cases with another vet and help clients understand what comes next.

  • Keep clear medical notes, with Scribenote to help with the typing.

  • If you choose mixed practice, grab your boots and head out on farm calls, too.

  • We trust you to use your clinical judgment, and there’s always room to talk through a case with another doctor.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Fresh Diploma or Well-Worn Stethoscope?

New grads, bring your questions. We’ll talk through cases with you and help you build confidence with new procedures. Experienced vets, tell us what you’d love to do more of in your next role.

A DVM, VMD, or equivalent veterinary degree by your start date, and a current Oklahoma veterinary license or eligibility to obtain one.

Benefits Offered:

What’s In It for You?

  • Base pay plus the opportunity to earn production pay

  • Flexible personal time away so you can make plans outside the clinic.

  • A CE allowance and dedicated CE days

  • Support for licensure, professional dues, and liability insurance

  • Medical, dental, and vision options

  • Student loan assistance for eligible veterinarians

“I love working at a Heartland-owned practice. They let us be ourselves with the support of a corporation. My relationship with our regional director is genuine and supportive. It’s obvious anytime company leadership addresses the practices that they genuinely care about our wellbeing and make decisions with our best interests in mind. We are extremely lucky to work for a company this down to earth.”
