Position Purpose

The Vice President of Operations (VPO) leads all operations activities associated with the assigned portfolio including P&L performance, continuous productivity and operational optimization, exercises and ensures discipline of our resources, and supports overall team engagement.  The VPO is the critical link ensuring alignment of organizational priorities across the Regional Director team.  The primary focus of the VPO is to positively impact the lives of our veterinary teams and their business performance through impeccable leadership of the Regional Director Team providing them support ultimately contributing to the long-term success and growth of the organization. This is a full-time remote role with a significant travel requirement (up to 75%).

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for leading a team of 5-10 Regional Director direct reports in support of a portfolio of 100+ practice locations.
  • Collaborates with executive leadership and cross functionally to align business objectives with operational strategies that drive efficient and productive processes within a rapidly growing multi-location veterinary organization.
  • Builds and develops strong relationships with our partner practices, veterinarians, practice managers, technicians, and administrative team members; continually strives to preserve the practice’s local identity, culture, relationships, and legacy while providing operational support to ensure successful performance.
  • Proactively develops, executes, and optimizes operational strategies in collaboration with the regional director team to achieve financial targets.
  • Supports organic growth through strategic planning, and ensures support is readily available for seamless integration of newly acquired practices.
  • Invests in the development and performance of the Regional Director team: including evaluating performance, creating development plans, goal setting, and coaching the team towards optimal performance.
  • Mitigates organizational risk by ensuring compliance with industry regulations, company policies, safety standards, and licensing requirements.
  • Acts as a key company communicator, creating and distributing broad operational or company messages; continually leading and supporting key messages.
  • Lead and manage operational change initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions and Regional Director buy-in. Facilitate training and support during periods of transition.
Requirements/Qualifications:
  • 3+ years in operational management role
  • Bachelor’s degree required or advanced degree
  • Proven track record of leading and scaling operations in a dynamic business environment
  • Financial Acumen -previous P&L responsibility, budget management, cost optimization
  • Experience in the veterinary industry, human medical/dental industry, or other physician focused multi-site industry
  • Excellent leadership, team-building, & communication skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time

Pay Range: $ USD $150,000.00 - USD $250,000.00 /Yr.
