As a veterinarian at Heartland Veterinary Partners, you will provide quality care to patients and empathetic service to clients. You will partner with other veterinarians, technicians, and client service representatives to operate as an efficient and productive team.

Job Details

Practice:

Since June of 1982, The Southside Veterinary Clinic has been here serving Bixby, Broken Arrow, Glenpool, Haskell, Jenks, Mounds, and the surrounding communities.

We are equipped to provide dog or cat wellness care, dental cleaning, x-rays, and routine spay and neuter as well as other surgeries. We also provide high rated boarding services at our onsite kennel.

Position: Associate Veterinarian

Welcome to Southside Veterinary Clinic, a trusted name in veterinary care since 1982! Nestled in the heart of Bixby, Oklahoma, we’re a close-knit team that’s passionate about keeping pets healthy and happy—from wiggly puppies and playful kittens to cherished senior companions.

Led by Drs. Riley, Metcalf, Gregg, and Milligan, our clinic offers full-service care including surgery, dentistry, diagnostics, wellness care, boarding, and senior pet support. We pride ourselves on forming meaningful relationships with our clients and their four-legged family members—and we're looking for a kind, curious, and compassionate veterinarian to grow with us!

Essential Responsibilities:
  • As a Veterinarian at Southside, you’ll:

    • Examine and treat cats and dogs with empathy and clinical excellence

    • Perform surgeries, dental cleanings, and preventative care

    • Interpret diagnostic tests and explain results with clarity and kindness

    • Advise pet parents on treatment plans, wellness tips, and senior care

    • Maintain accurate, detailed medical records

    • Partner with your team to ensure the highest standard of care

    • Provide gentle guidance around end-of-life decisions when needed

Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) from an AVMA-accredited school

  • Active (or eligible) Oklahoma veterinary license

  • DEA/BNDD eligibility

  • Strong communication skills and a team-player attitude

  • Commitment to compassionate, high-quality care

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs (or more with a buddy’s help!)
