Our team is currently made up of 3 confident and experienced doctors backed by an equally skillful support staff of technicians and assistants. We pride ourselves on our top-of-the-line care and are proud to have served Alachua for decades.
Position Purpose:Associate Veterinarian (Part-Time) – Hilltop Family Vet, Alachua, FL

Located in the charming town of Alachua, FL, we’re a full-service animal hospital equipped with state-of-the-art technology, modern medical therapies, and a close-knit team that feels more like a veterinary dream squad. With three skilled and confident DVMs and an equally talented support crew, we’re proud to have served our community for decades with high-quality, compassionate care that treats every pet like one of our own.
We’re currently seeking a part-time Associate Veterinarian to join our team and help support our weekend shifts. Want to pick up an extra day here or there? We’re happy to work with your schedule and can explore adding Fridays or Sundays, too!

Alachua is a slice of Florida paradise just north of Gainesville (Go Gators!). You’ll enjoy historic charm, scenic main streets, and epic natural beauty — think bike and equestrian trails, wildflower fields, piney woods, and even world-famous freshwater springs. (Cave diving, anyone?) Plus, the area is booming with innovation thanks to a growing tech and manufacturing presence.
Essential Responsibilities:Examine and treat companion animals, diagnosing and managing a variety of conditions.
Use diagnostic tools and labs to inform care decisions.
Provide thoughtful client education on wellness, prevention, and treatment plans.
Perform surgeries and prescribe medications when necessary.
Offer compassionate guidance on end-of-life care.
Maintain accurate patient records.
Stay aligned with veterinary ethics and best practices.
A DVM or equivalent from an AVMA-accredited institution.
Active or eligible FL state license (and DEA registration).
Strong communication skills with a friendly, professional vibe.
A team-oriented attitude and a passion for pets and their people.
The ability to lift 25+ lbs (with help if needed — we’re not superheroes either).
