Overview

As a veterinarian at Heartland Veterinary Partners, you will provide quality care to patients and empathetic service to clients. You will partner with other veterinarians, technicians, and client service representatives to operate as an efficient and productive team.

Position Purpose:

Associate Veterinarian – Part-Time Weekends

Hilltop Family Vet is a full-service small animal practice in Alachua, Florida, supported by three experienced DVMs and a strong, well-trained support team. We’re known for a collaborative culture, efficient workflows, and a loyal client base that values high-quality veterinary care.

We are currently seeking an experienced Part-Time Associate Veterinarian to support weekend coverage, with the primary need on Saturdays. There is flexibility to add Fridays and/or Sundays depending on your availability and interest. This role is well suited for a veterinarian looking to supplement their schedule, maintain work-life balance, or continue practicing in a supportive, low-pressure environment.

About the Practice & Location

Hilltop Family Vet serves the Alachua community and surrounding areas and is located just minutes from Gainesville. The area offers easy access to nature, springs, trails, and a relaxed pace of life, while still being close to a larger metro area.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality medical care to companion animals
  • Perform physical exams and interpret diagnostic results
  • Recommend and administer treatments, medications, and surgical care as appropriate
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records
  • Practice ethical, evidence-based veterinary medicine in compliance with all regulations

Requirements/Qualifications:

Qualifications

  • DVM or equivalent from an AVMA-accredited program
  • Active Florida veterinary license (or ability to obtain)
  • DEA/BNDD eligibility
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliable, professional, and client-focused approach

Pay Range:
